Making a Book Binding Card

I joined in on a class held by one of my Stampin' Up buddies, Cheryl Stephens recently. It must have been one of my better moments. Yesterday I sat down to stamp and started falling asleep (Thank you to post-viral symptoms), Hehe! or should I say Zzzz Zzzz!

Joining in on a few classes and trying something new you haven't made before like this is a great way to find your mojo again if you have been having a bit of a uninspired time with your crafting. Its also helpful when your brain does not want to think too hard and you can let someone else do the creating for you. Speaking of which, another option on these days is to use kits. Have you seen our crafting kits?

Apart from the fun catching up with other stamping buddies online, I made a fun fold card that I have not made before. It is called a Book Binding Card. Have you made one of these?  This the inside of the first card I have showed you on this page. The products I have used for these two cards are listed below. I have been very much enjoying making cards this past month with the beautiful Abigail Rose Suite of products. I do trust you have been enjoying them also.

Here are the details to make these cards.

Hand Made Christmas Cards & Tags

Morning Friends!

This week we are focusing on Christmas. I thought it is most certainly time to get cracking on making cards to send and give to friends, and also making tags to attach to gifts. I have also found the most adorable little tree decoration to make and hang on your tree or to give as a small gift to colleagues or friends. The annual catalogue has a selection of Christmas products, but the June - December Mini Catalogue has lots and lots. If you are not into Christmas, don't ignore the Mini as there are still Non Christmas products to be found in there.

Delivering Cheer

I love this stamp set. ...Had to have it! You know how it is. I like this set because it is able to be used outside Christmas.

So many ways to play with this set. I have used the gifts as a background stamp here. I have also stamped her skirt onto DSP and fussy cut around it. I finished the parcels with Wink of Stella.

Here is a product list to make the above card. Click on any to go shopping and make this card.

Here's another card you can case straight from the catalogue.

Tidings & Trim Tree Decoration

I found this adorable tree decoration to make on the lovely Patty Bennett's blog. Thanks Patty!

Here is the link to find out how to make it. You could make a few of these. They would be real fun to make.

Many of our tree decorations have been gifts from someone or hand made by my children. I really enjoy unboxing the tree decorations and hanging them each year. Its like a memory box that I get to pull out once a year and as I come across different ornaments I can get a little thrill of 'Oh, so and so gave me that one' or 'Mr M made this one when he was in year 3'.

Updates & News

Expression in Colour Paper Pumpkin Kit is still available. It is a really great addition to any of the products in the Expressions in Ink Suite

Monday 11 October

The lovely Hope Box is available for purchase HERE.

Tuesday 2 November - Exciting News!

Eden's Garden - Exclusive Early-release product from the January–June 2022 Mini Catalogue available for purchase. The collection’s additional products are exclusive and only available while supplies last.

Well, that's it for now. Have a great week and make some time for being creative and show me what you made. Leave a comment below or post on my facebook page.

Taking the hard work out of Crafting! - Using Kits in a box by Stampin' Up!

Morning Friends!

Wow! Crazy week I have had this last couple of weeks.

Hubby and they boys headed up to the Flinders Ranges with 2 of his brothers and their boys for a Boys weekend, camping in their swags, hiking, 4 wheel driving and just bonding. They had a ball.

I had a great fun night with a friend (both of us Ex Sydneyites & mad crazy -as you can see from the photo- Sydney supporters) at the AFL Sydney v Port Adelaide game. Wet and cold night in the middle of winter sitting on the hill, but a really great night game. Sadly my team, the Sydney Swans did not win the game but it was a very exciting and neck to neck battle. Funny times and photos these Covid times.

Have you had a look through the Kits Collection yet?

Stampin' Up! have a range of Kits available. There are all sorts, for all sorts of occasions. Pop over and have a look on the Shop page. The collection is only available online. They are not in our physical catalogue.

Kits make a great option
  • for a gift to give a crafty friend.
  • something to stash for a busy time when you want to craft but need to eliminate the thinking.
  • If you are a #Vanlifer, then kits are for you. You will love them. They do not take up much space to store until you are ready to craft.
  • to use at a kids home party to entertain them.
  • for homeschoolers to have on hand.

All you will need to purchase extra is some stamping blocks if you dont have any already.

Here is one of the available kits. A great fun package for a party. You could pre make them or if the kids are old enough, let them make them up at the party as part of the party fun, and then fill them with some of the party lollies and treats that are at the party.  Oh my gosh, how much fun could your kids have with these!

I have had a huge couple of weeks, so that's it for now. Have a great week and make some time for crafting.

Stampin' Up!® 221/22 Annual Catalogue Swap Cards - Part 2

Morning Friends!

I do hope you have had a great week. We are certainly heading into winter temperatures now. It has been lovely lighting the fire and sitting around it together with the family in the evenings. when its cold like this my crochet comes out and as the blanket or whatever I am making grows larger, it keeps me warm. It keeps my hands busy too. What do you do in winter that you always enjoy and look forward to. It is certainly a good time when its wet and cold outside to do a bit of crafting. What kind of crafting do you do? What time of day do you do your papercrafts? I often feel inspired early (sometimes really early) in the mornings, but I prefer to papercraft in the afternoons when my body is low in energy and I can sit and make my cards.

In todays post, you will enjoy seeing and gleaning inspiration from lots of cards made from new items in the new annual catalogue. There are a lot to show you so I have split them over 2 blog posts. This Part 2. You can see Part 1 here.

I joined in a swap of cards from our NEW 2021/22 STAMPIN' UP!® ANNUAL CATALOGUE. It is always exciting to know that a bunch of cards is in the mail on their way to you. The swap attendees, from the Stampin' Up! Demonstrators Team I am in, have made some beautiful and clever cards. They are very inspirational.

Tristan Goldsmith using Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set, Hand-Penned Petals DSP, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Elegant Faceted Gems

Kylie Bertucci using Hand-Penned Petals, Hand-Penned Dies & Hand-Penned DSP.

Kylie Bertucci Card insert.

Angela Allen using Pansy Patch Stamp Set, Pansy Dies, Stitched so Sweetly Dies, Bumblebee Trinkets, Pansy Petals DSP.

Heidi Scholler using Prince and Princess Stamp Set, Gilded Leafing, Evening Evergreen Stampin' Ink, Cherry Cobbler Brushed Metallic Evening Evergreen and Basic White Card Stocks.

Did you enjoy seeing these cards, and haven't seen Part 1 yet, have a look HERE now.

Thank You!

I have to say a really big THANK YOU to all the contributors to this Card Swap, especially Bruno & Kylie Bertucci who did all the hard work organising it.

Finally

Here is the card I made for this swap. Simple in colour scheme, just black, white and silver. I used mostly basic items to make this card, the products you will use again and again in all your Handmade items.

Here is the product list I used to make this card.

Well, that's it for this Tuesday. I am looking forward to seeing what you make using the products and inspiration from above. send me photos. I love seeing them. I hope you are feeling inspired to go make cards and send some cheer to a friend in your world.
Have a great week and make some time for crafting.
