In The Moment & Storage Organisation by Stampin' Up!

 Morning Friends!

Have you seen Stampin' Up!s storage? Do you have any or all of it?

They have this great range of modular storage, all white. It is great, you can configure it in various different ways to suit your own style.

I have been collecting mine for a while now, a piece or two every time or second time I pop in an order. I am sure some of you would forgo the stamps or DSP and get all the storage you need in one order.

I have heard from a few people, and maybe you have this problem too, that it keeps coming apart.  I thought I would show you my solution to this problem.

What I have done is to stick clear packing tape down the sides of the sets. Just be careful on the top side not to wrap it over the top, as it is difficult to then get it neat and tight enough that you can stack the sets together on top of each other.

I also learnt something this week when I opened my latest pack. I was pulling the little silicone feet out of the zip lock bag when I noticed that there are two different sizes. Yep, I would have noticed this before now if I had read the instructions that come with them when I purchased my first set. 😳

The short ones are for the back and the fat ones at the front and you adhere them where the circle with the cross in it is on the bottom shelf of the set.

In The Moment

I really love this stampset. I love the drawings. I love the sayings. I love playing with it.

To make the background to the Image on this, I used watercolour paper. I placed a couple of drops of ink from my re-inker onto my clear stamp block and spritzed it with water a few times. Then I turned the block ink side down and placed it onto the watercolour card. I held it there for 5 or so seconds before removing the block. Then I let it dry really well before I stamped the image over it.

Taking the hard work out of Crafting! - Using Kits in a box by Stampin' Up!

Morning Friends!

Wow! Crazy week I have had this last couple of weeks.

Hubby and they boys headed up to the Flinders Ranges with 2 of his brothers and their boys for a Boys weekend, camping in their swags, hiking, 4 wheel driving and just bonding. They had a ball.

I had a great fun night with a friend (both of us Ex Sydneyites & mad crazy -as you can see from the photo- Sydney supporters) at the AFL Sydney v Port Adelaide game. Wet and cold night in the middle of winter sitting on the hill, but a really great night game. Sadly my team, the Sydney Swans did not win the game but it was a very exciting and neck to neck battle. Funny times and photos these Covid times.

Have you had a look through the Kits Collection yet?

Stampin' Up! have a range of Kits available. There are all sorts, for all sorts of occasions. Pop over and have a look on the Shop page. The collection is only available online. They are not in our physical catalogue.

Kits make a great option
  • for a gift to give a crafty friend.
  • something to stash for a busy time when you want to craft but need to eliminate the thinking.
  • If you are a #Vanlifer, then kits are for you. You will love them. They do not take up much space to store until you are ready to craft.
  • to use at a kids home party to entertain them.
  • for homeschoolers to have on hand.

All you will need to purchase extra is some stamping blocks if you dont have any already.

Here is one of the available kits. A great fun package for a party. You could pre make them or if the kids are old enough, let them make them up at the party as part of the party fun, and then fill them with some of the party lollies and treats that are at the party.  Oh my gosh, how much fun could your kids have with these!

I have had a huge couple of weeks, so that's it for now. Have a great week and make some time for crafting.

New Punch Storage Solutions for Cube

How organised is your craft?

I don't know about you but for me craft organisation is never quite 'there'. It seems to always be an ongoing organic thing. I am always looking for and trying to think of ideas to make my space more efficient and relaxing (at least for me, since I am the one who uses it!).

I love having my items close at hand so I am not having to get up and run here and there to get them. I just want to be able to reach each thing I want. Consequently at the moment I sit in a tiny little corner with shelves all around my desk. It is also handy this way because we have limited space in the house that needs to be shared with the whole (large) family.

Punch Storage

Thanks so much to Vicki Schnabel for planting the idea of using Down Pipe to make some Punch storage. The one she made looked really great.

I wanted to try and see if I could make it fit in my Ikea Cube storage that I already had.

I love that I can make this expandable and can even move it if I want to. I can pull it apart and rearrange it to be tall or wide, or even fill the whole cube hole if I expand my set of punches. As you can see I don't have many. Well actually I have a few Whale Tale Punches but they wont quite fit in this and as Stampin' Up!® are not producing the Whale Punch style anymore, this is a better fit for me and my cube. I know I will fill this and more quite quickly so am glad that this solution is as expandable and efficient as it is affordable and easy to make.

The Details

My very kind hubby bought me a length from Bunnings of 100x50mm which cost $20, so it actually works out to some pretty cheap storage. He cut them with the drop saw at 11mm long each. Then he gave them a light file off to smooth them. I wrapped my stack of 6 down pipe pieces in clear packing tape to hold them together and stop them moving. above them I have put a piece of foam core board and also a piece behind them to stop me from pushing them all the way through and out the back end. The foam core on top also makes a nice firm and flat piece for my stamp cases to sit.

Have fun making and creating.

How to re-ink your stamp pads

Good morning Crafters,

We have had a wet week here. The rest of this week is going to be wet also. How is your home looking? Mine is looking very much like a Chinese laundry with wet washing hanging everywhere. Also with not much wood left in the wood pile (our heating is slow combustion stove), I am hoping we are getting close to the end of the cold wet winter weather.

I made this video a few weeks back and it was a nice day that day so don't be too confused by my contrary weather comments.

In the Craft Room

I usually purchase a matching ink refill at the same time as buying my new ink pad. When you are spending decent money to invest in a good quality pad then it is well worth the small amount extra to get the ink refill as well, as your new pad will last many, many years. There are so many things you can do with your ink refill more than just juicing up your ink pad. I have added a quick link below to the Stampin' Up! ink refill for you to order yours now. Remember! If you purchase them in bundles by colour collection, either your Stampin' Pads or your Stampin' Ink Refills you can save 10%.

While you are waiting for them to arrive on your doorstep, enjoy watching this video. You can also watch it over on my You Tube Channel. Remember to leave me a thumbs up or subscribe to my channel.

Prize Patrol

Last week was a bit epic for me. I joined in with the team I am in who had an amazingly fun time together as an extra add on to the Stampin' Up!® OnTour Online event. We had hours of zooming with  networking, business training, making and sharing our creations with each other and Prize Patrol with loads of prizes - Stampin'Up!® aprons, Kits, Memories and More packs, blends, Stampin'Up® branded bags and even a FULL set of markers! Guess who took that prize home! Yes, me! I am stoked! It is a fantastic addition to my Stamping Supplies which I know will be well utilised.

Watch this video and see why i think they are such good value, apart from that they are very good artist quality and a well made product.

I love being part of the team I am in and I love being part of Stampin' Up! Everyone is so friendly and willing to share their knowledge and ideas to help each other in their stamping journey or their stamping business.

Stamping Friends and Memories.

 Memory Lane

 Hi Stamping Friends,

Today I thought I might just go down the rabbit hole with a walk down memory lane.

The stamping world has provided me with some very precious and life long friends over the years. One of those friends gave me this gift many years ago. She just used a simple glass jar and resprayed the lid with paint to suit, filled it with some of her excess threads and finished it off with a sweet tag she stamped and signed.

The pleasures a small gift can make to someone else can be so valuable to them and yet really doesn't have to cost a lot or take a lot of time to make.

You know, it was quite a practical gift as I have added threads to it since. It is fantastic for storage in my craft nook. It looks good too! Every time I glance past it or search through it for just the right thread I think of her and our friendship and can remember the happy times we have shared together.

Pass It On

I am also reminded as I write to be generous with what we have. We live in a land of excess and most of us have plenty to share with others. Maybe we don't need to keep everything for that 'I might just use it one day' that may never come.  I know that my friend had bought a number of balls of thread/wool and she could have kept them all. I am pretty sure she would have eventually used them all too, but she chose to divide them and share them with others.

Now, how am I going to 'Pass It On' and bless some one else today?  If my friend and I have inspired you to share some of your crafting excess to bless someone, tell me in the comments below what you did.

Holiday Catalogue

The 2019 Holiday Catalogue will be out and available on Wednesday (4 September 2019) so be sure to check back on my web page next week to have a look through it online.

Well I do wonder what you have planned for your weekend. Crafting maybe?  Whatever your up to and wherever you are have a great weekend.
