Rainbow Embossing Paste Stampin Up

Good Morning Crafty Friends

This week I am playing along with Bruno and Kylie Bertucci's Demonstrator Training Program Blog Hop. I am joining in with a group of demonstrators who are working on building our businesses, all the while, having fun in the process.

I encourage you to hop around and visit the other demonstrators on this hop, I know they will appreciate it. You will find some fantastic cards, from some people who are far more talented than myself. I am sure you will find inspiration and enjoy yourself too.

I made all my customer cards for this month. A nice bundle to send to my customers to say Thank you for your order'. It is also a nice way for me to share another card idea for my customers to replicate.

Team Craft Class

Last night I took part in our Team Craft Class (#CCCC). We had heaps of fun with Cheryl Miller playing with our Embossing Paste and tools. Our finished cards and art works look fantastic. I have made these ones in rainbow colours using our 'brights' range of colours. As I write I am getting my mojo on and creating in my head. Imagine making these cards in just may be white and 1 or 2 colours. Really push the ombre effect that is created in this process of colour mixing. I used our plain white embossing paste, but this could also be done with our shimmery white embossing paste.

Instructions:

  1. You will need to mix 1 or 2 drops of our Stampin' Reinkers to about a teaspoon of embossing paste. I did this on a ceramic sealed tile that I keep for art. You could use a plate. Use your embossing tools to mix them together well.
  2. tape a stencil or mask to a layer size piece of whisper white card. Now you can take some of your mix and swipe across the card trying to get an even amount over the card. then do another swipe above the first and gently swipe back and forth until they have blended softly together creating the transition. Continue repeating this action until the whole card is covered.
  3. Finally once the paste is fully dry, trim to neaten the edges and make up into a card.
I did not have a stencil so I die cut largest of the Potted Succulents Dies from the new and upcoming January to June 2021 Mini Catalogue. I used that and once I was finished, I was able to use it as a layer on a card front. I have layered them onto Basic Black cardstock and stamped some die cut pieces with sentiment from Beautiful Moments from the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue.

I can't wait for you to see the new Mini catalogue and Sale-a-Bration catalogue. They are sooooo full of really fun and beautiful stamp suites, bundles (like this one),kits, stamp sets, and some amazing DSPs. You just have to see it.

These cards are much easier than they look and I have to say they do look impressive when finished. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below, I would love to hear your opinion. Have you done this technique before? show me your cards.

Updates & News

If you use a lot of Whisper White or your stocks are low, I suggest that you order some more now. We are changing from Whisper White to Basic white which is produced by a new paper milling company. As this has come as a surprise to Stampin' Up!® they have been very busy testing new card stocks. SU have put limits onto orders to try and manage the stock during change over to Basic White Cardstocks. Sadly Stampin' Up!® had some sad news that the business who manufactured our Whisper White cardstocks has closed due to the impacts of Covid-19.
Here is a YouTube video to explain the difference between the two cardstocks. Differences and change are inevitable but I think this new cs will be just as good as the old, just different. SU have high standards for anything they put their name to so it will be fine, but maybe some hiccups in the change over, hopefully not too many

.
