Free As A Bird

Who loves receiving a card in the mail? Everyone of course!

Everyone loves to open the letterbox to find anything other than a bill or junk mail. We all love to receive a card for our birthday, when we are sick and need a pick-me-up, or congratulations on doing something well. This little card is great for all sorts of reasons and could just as easily be sent to a male or female. A quick change of the sentiment and it changes the purpose of the card.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that! This sweet card was made with Specialty Lazer Cut Designer Series Paper, layered over card stock and then on to an A5 piece of whisper white card stock folded in half.

For the focal point on the card, I chose the birds on the branch to stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured the picture with Stampin' Blends. For the belly I used Pumpkin Pie light, working to dark on the outer edge. Then blending Pumpkin Pie with Smokey Slate and covering the remainder of the bird in the Smokey Slate. Finishing with Pumpkin Pie for the beak and flowers and Mint Macaroon for the leaves.
