Beautiful Moments
This week I have been enjoying doing some colouring and blending with this really lovely stamp set called Beautiful Moments. This set lends it self to colouring and blending very well.
You can watercolour using Watercolour Pencils and Water Painters. Start by colouring your image stamped onto our Fluid 100 watercolour paper where the shadows would be and then you can gently brush over the coloured areas with your water painter, working out to the lightest areas. This will pick up colour and drag it across the area and will give you a nice gentle transition of colour. The Water Painters come in a set of 3 brushes and you fill them with water.
Have you used our Stampin' Markers yet?
You will love them. They have great intensity of colour, a fine writing point and a brush end. They are able to be purchased either in colour groups, ie. Regals, Subtles, Brights, Neutrals, or as the whole collection of 40 colours plus a Basic Black Marker. Also available is the In Colour groups of Stampin' Write Markers.
The Stampin' Markers can be used to give a watercolour look to your images if they are a solid image. See my blog post on this technique Here. To colour on an image like these from the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set, I would put some of the colour from my markers onto a Clear Block and use that like a pallet with my Water Painters. Then I lift the ink with my water painter and carefully paint my image with it.
Blending
The above card was made using the Stampin' Blends. First I used the Daffodil Delight Dark where I wanted to see the shadows on the dress, then coloured, with Daffodil Delight Light Stampin' Blend, over the whole dress and over top of the Daffodil Delight Dark to finish and blend the dress colours. I used some Misty Moonlight Stampin' Ink dabbed on a sponge dauber and sponged in small circles around the edge of the picture.
SNEAK PEAK....
the DSP I have used here is the double sided 2020-2022 In Colours DSP that will be in our next Annual Catalogue. I used Misty Moonlight. It is not too late to get a pack of this (see below, the 200 peices of paper) but you will need to do it before the end of February.
