Very Indian Colours

Recently I went to a surprise party for a friend who grew up in India. The hosts of the party went to an enormous effort to decorate, entertain and get that India feel happening at the party. They did a great job. Amongst other decorations, at the dining tables was a wee Bonbonniere for each guest. The little pyramid boxes in red, orange, mustard, teal and purple tied off with gold thread and mustard cotton.

This gave me some inspiration for my next papercraft project. I am making them for my mother to leave on the pillow for overnight guests.  My parents are keen boaties/yachty's so I am making them with a boating theme.

To make these I have used the bag & button dies from All Dressed Up Dies and the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper from the Sale-a-Bration Catalogue. This is now a retired product but you could use any of our current DSPs that you will find on the Shop Site.

I stamped 'Welcome' onto a tiny tag & carefully marked the edges of the tag with an appropriate coloured Stamp & Write Marker. To bring in the yachty theme, I stamped and die cut an anchor.  I then died some whisper white cotton thread with a matching coloured re-inker and tied them to the tag and anchor.

Now mum can fill them with some treats or some of her fantastic home baking that she is known for. I am sure her guests will love to find them on their beds. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below.
