"Ahhh! The serenity!"
I am almost certain that is Mr Percival from the film Storm Boy! |
Blue Wren Babies
I gave this painting to my mum ages ago, it was one of my very early ones. Mum loves blue wrens. I noticed it perched on her blue wren shelves still unframed. Horrors! So I took it away and have framed it up for her. Framing a watercolour painting behind glass is important because it protects it from dust and the elements. Its is also good to hang it somewhere out of the direct sunshine.Stampin' Up!® Sampler in Blue
Here is a sampler I made this week. It's CASEd (Copy & Shared) from the amazing Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Gail Ellis of 'Blue Rose Paper Treasures'. I have the same colour theme but have changed it up a bit to make it my own.
I have used a number of Retired Products in this piece. I enjoy being able to use up some of my retired products. Just because they are not current does not mean we can't use them or need to throw them out. Its great to use what you have and this helps to make it your own. That reminds me of another point to mention, when CASEing or making someing we do not have to adhere to the same colours as the instructions. Do your own thing, choose colours you like or that you have.
I will write a post soon about using some of my Retired Designer Series Papers (DSP's). I can show you some of the things I have been making with them.
Colours in this sampler are:
- Cake Crumb
- a retired Blue along with the new In Colour 2019-21, Seaside Spray
- Gold and I coloured the flowers with Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.
- and Whisper White
- The White Delightfully Detailed Lazer-Cut Specialty Paper was also a Retired Product from Stampin' Up! but they have similar and just as pretty Papers in the current catalogue that you could use.
The frame is an Ikea frame 10x10" or 25.5x25.5cm.
I used Stamp set Butterly Gala and also the Retired stamp set Wonderful Romance and a verse for the center piece printed on regular copy paper from 'Creating for Christ' with Ronda & Julie, two demonstrators in the USA.
I did not have Gold Metallic Pearls so I took the Plain Pearl coloured ones I have and embossed them in Gold.
I have a product list at the end of this post, for all I have used in this Sampler. It is all linked up to my store to make it easy for you to make one for yourself or a friend. ....or both!
