Making 4 cards in 1 - Friends are like Seashells

Morning Friends!

Have you made any cards lately? I would love to see them. Post them in the comments below or on my Fb page. I had a wonderful time at OnStage over the weekend. It is Stampin' Up's Confrence for the demonstrators. It is soooo much fun. There is a lot of crafting as you can imagine, networking and making friends with other demos, Prize Patrol (ie. freebies) catching up with friends and so much more.

I thought I would revisit the 4 in 1 technique I showed you a couple of years back. It's been a while since I used this technique and at them moment my brain is really not up for much thinking. Actually this would be good to use if you want to pump out some Christmas cards in a hurry. Maybe use snowflakes, or Christmas flowers. I wanted to play with my Friends are like seashells stamp set.

Instructions

  • Divide a sheet of Basic White (or vanilla would be nice too) A4 card into 4 even quarters with a light pencil line as shown. It's a bit difficult to see the pencil lines but they are there. You are essentially making a cross through the center of the card.
  • Stamping on the card, focusing around the center and the pencil lines.

  • Cut the card on the pencil lines into the 4 even quarters and trim them to 14.2 x 9.8cm.
  • Now cut a piece of DSP to 14.4 x 10 cm which you will use as a accent layer behind the stamped card stock.
  • I like using the Tombo Multi-purpose liquid glue from the fine point end to adhere my layers onto each other and the folded card.

I then stamped a sentiment onto the card in an appropriate place on the stamped card. You could keep it really simple. It looks great just like this but being the blingy girl I am, I added some embellishment with Opal Rounds.

Here is an example of another set of 4 I made using the same Friends are like Seashells stamp set.

This set of cards I really blinged up by using my blending brush to put a small soft amount of ink onto the card, and used the seashell background image stamps to put a little colour into the shells.
I also stamped and die cut images adhered with dimensional's to give a bit of 'dimension' to the card.
I stamped my sentiments onto a piece of scrap card, edged the rectangle sentiment pieces with ink and glued them straight onto the top of the card.

Here is a list of products I have used to make these cards. You could swap things out for what you have at home already if you do not have or want to purchase all the items on the list.

I have used a lot of ink pad colours for these cards. You can purchase them individually or what you will find is that all but the Flirty Flamingo (Brights) are from the one colour family, Subtles.

An alternative to purchasing them all individually if you do not have them already, is to purchase them as a Subtles bundle and save 10%

Another alternative is to purchase the box of Many Marvelous Markers (all 4 colour families as double ended marker pens), again saving 10%. This is how I started.

Instead of using a punch you can trim a rectangle or square of card to stamp your sentiment using your paper trimmer.
